Endeavour Vision invested in Medartis. Located in Basel, Switzerland, the company develops, manufactures and distributes medical internal fixation devices and surgical instruments offered in system solutions for small bone fractures focusing on the extremities. Medartis was founded in 1997 by Dr. Thomas Straumann.
The company launched its first products under the MODUS brand targeting craniomaxillofacial (CMF) market. The MODUS brand provides solutions for all fracture fixations in the mandibular, midface and cranial regions. In 2004, the company launched its APTUS brand providing Hand and Wrist solutions, and has since started providing Elbow and Foot solutions.
Over the last number of years, the company has established itself among surgeons and key medical opinion leaders as the developer of the most efficient implant solutions for small bone fractures of the extremities. The implants and instruments exceed rival products in terms of handling, precision and ease of use and this has been reflected in a revenue CAGR of 14% per year over the last 5 years (at a constant currency fx rate), far outperforming the growth of the global extremity market (~7 %). Medartis has established itself either No.1 or 2 market position in DACH, France and Australia.
On 26th February 2018, the company announced that it was considering going public on SIX, the Swiss stock exchange, to facilitate its continued expansion and growth.
