In 2004, Sven co-founded Euro Private Equity Advisors, a private equity advisor for pension funds. It was acquired by Natixis (now Flexstone) in 2013 and in 2019 it had $6.7 billion under management. In 1996 Sven co-founded Vision Capital, a transatlantic technology venture capital firm with offices in Silicon Valley and Geneva. Prior to this, Sven was the Managing Director of Genevest, a Swiss venture capital firm which became Reference Capital in 2019. Through his leadership, Genevest developed an outstanding track record of early to late stage investments in high tech and biotech.
With over three decades of venture capital and direct investing experience, Sven has developed an extensive global network which resulted in the formation of the Tech Tour initiative. The organisation is one of the leading European networks bringing together VCs, corporates and companies aiming to move from local to global.
Sven was named one of the Top 10 Venture Capitalists in Europe by Convergence Magazine (WJS), a key influencer in life sciences by the Life Sciences Intellectual Property Review in 2017 and has received multiple awards including the Investor All Stars Outstanding Contribution in 2011, the Innovate Honors Award in 2005 and the Time Magazine Digital Europe 25 in 2001 and 2002.
Sven studied business administration at HEC, Lausanne, Switzerland and graduated from the ECADE business school. He is a member of the Young President Organisation (YPO), a global platform for chief executives to engage, learn and grow, and is the former YPO Alpine chapter’s Chairman.
